Lagat kicks his way into record books

At age 35, Bernard Lagat continues to defy the odds. His latest masterpiece was a vintage kick to victory in the 3000m at the Continental Cup. Coupled with his 5000m win on Saturday and 1500m win in 2002, Lagat is the only man to win three titles in three events.

Gatlin wins Padua 100m in 10.15

Justin Gatlin clocked 10.15 seconds to win the 100 meters at a meet near Venice on Friday in the last race on his return from a four-year doping ban before he goes back to the United States to prepare for the indoor season.

Gay to run 4x100m for Americas Team

Lagat sets 3000m American record in Rieti

Bernard Lagat continues to make history. On Sunday at the Rieti Grand Prix, the 36-year-old broke Bob Kennedy's American record in the 3000m, running 7:29.00 in a runner-up finish to Ethiopian Tariku Bakele. Kennedy's record of 7:30.84 had stood since 1998.

Rudisha sets another 800m world record in Rieti

For the second weekend in a row, Kenya's David Rudisha has lowered the world record in the 800m. The 21-year-old clocked 1:41.01 in Rieti on Sunday, shaving .08 seconds off the mark he set in Berlin. In the 100m, Nesta Carter equaled Tyson Gay's world-lead of 9.78.

Huddle humbled by American record run in 5000m
