Tune and Balciunaite to run in Frankfurt

9 September 2010 - Frankfurt, Germany - Former Boston Marathon champion Dire Tune and the reigning European Champion Zivile Balciunaite have been signed for the Commerzbank Frankfurt Marathon. Organisers, who announced these two names today, are eager to improve their women’s course record of 2:25:12.

Spotakova: Winning Diamond Trophy second only to Olympic gold – IAAF Online Diaries

Split, Croatia - Poster girl Blanka Vlasic’s appearance in the High Jump was expected to first pack, and then bring down, the proverbial house. Nearly 30,000 vociferous fans did turn out, and the double World champion didn’t disappoint, capping her starring role with a competition record of 2.05m in what will go down as one of the most memorable moments in IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup history.
